What is behavior therapy and How can it help my child?
Behavior intervention therapy helps to eliminate undesirable behaviors while teaching and encouraging desirable ones. By improving your child’s toileting behaviors, eating behaviors, speech, and sleeping routines, your child will be equipped with the skills to live their best autonomous lives.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are typically scheduled into blocks of 2-4 hours. Some clients may have more than 1 session per day.
What methodologies besides ABA do you use?
In addition to the principles of applied behavior analysis, we use developmental individual relationship based principles (DIR), floor-time, verbal behavior, discrete trial training, natural environment training, pivotal response training play-based therapies, picture exchange communication systems/ augmentative alternative communication
Does my child have to have a formal diagnosis to receive therapy?
Although a formal diagnosis is not required to begin services, medical necessity is required for insurance coverage and reimbursement. Most insurance companies will not cover services unless your child is diagnosed Autism Spectrum Disorder.
What is your service area for in-home therapy?
We are happy to serve families up to 15-miles or 20-minutes (non-peak traffic time) from our Carrollton Office location.
Pediatric therapy during the COVID-19 pandemic
At Spectrum of Grace the health & safety of our families, clients, and staff is our upmost priority. Since the U.S. Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) first announced concerns regarding COVID-19, Spectrum of Grace is continually monitoring changes and updated guidance protocols from the CDC and state health officials.
Specific safeguards we have implemented during this time include:
Daily Wellness checks from the BCBA with the family
Sessions will be subjected to cancellation contingent upon illness/ displaying signs of illness
All staff must undergo training & education on all COVID-19 protocols (mask wearing, hand-washing, disinfecting, social distancing, etc.)
Before each session workspace and all materials will be disinfected and sanitized
